While conducting speaking engagements and book signings,
also through email and personal appearances, Kreig is often asked: "What's going on with the movie?" based on his
second novel, Trail of Bodies. As you can see, an additional tab, dedicated solely to the movie project, has been added
to the navigator bar.
Once the project moves out of pre-production (its
current status) and into production (auditions, actor/actress selection, scene locations, filming, etc.) updates will be posted
here...so check back.
First and foremost: the project is still alive.
Mr. Johnny Wu (see the Links page for Mr. Wu's web site) remains committed to producing and directing the project once the
troubled economy stabilizes.
The screenplay has been completed and filming could
begin at any time, however, it makes little sense to acquire financing necessary to make a movie when distribution could present
a problem. Without distribution (theatre showings and DVD rental outlets) it makes little sense to expend the financial resources
to make a movie that, in all likelihood, would sit on a shelf gathering dust...kind of like building a luxury yacht in the
middle of a desert.
While you patiently wait (along with the rest of
us) for filming to begin, why not take a look at the Internet "teaser/trailers" Mr. Wu filmed. The video clips appear
on a number of entertainment-oriented, social-networking web sites; MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Google videos, to name
a few.
